MASA Gives Rocket Talk to Local Church Camp (6/25/1998)
On Thursday, June 25, Mark Thell, Damian Kostron, and Russ Durkee
introduced about 100 people to the hobby of model rocketry at
(believe it or not...) a church ice-cream social. St.
Luke's Lutheran church had a neat program this year that combined a
mini space-camp with their usual youth summer bible camp. The
kids watched the presentation with great interest and had a lot of
questions afterward. They had a great time pulling nose cones
off the rockets while asking questions about every
rocket. Mark Thell's space shuttle was especially
popular with the kids. Our rockets are now a little stickier
than they were but no worse for the wear. Plus, we had a very
nice time.
