November 20 2005 launch report (11/28/2005)
On Sunday, November 20, MASA held its final launch for the
year on the farm fields near Buffalo/Rockford.
This was a "bonus" launch especially arranged by Mike Erpelding.
Thanks Mike!
A few of the flights:
MASA members - please send in your thoughts about the
launch!
Mike Erpelding writes:
Sunday's launch could be summed up in three words: cold,
muddy, and fun.
I arrived at the field a little before 11 am. We had 10
MASA members in attendance throughout the day. Mark Thell was
already there when I arrived. The King and Myers families, and
Glen Overby arrived later. Lee Frisvold also dropped by for a
little bit to bring back the equipment I loaned him for
Saturday's launch. Thank you for taking care of that launch for
me Lee! Unfortunately Lee had other family commitments that day,
so he couldn't stay long.
I had some good flights:
I launched my Estes NSA rocket twice, both on a B6-4.
I launched my Stomp rocket on a C6-5.
I launched my Mach 12 on a B4-4, unfortunately my elastic shock
cord burned through, for a nice mud core sample.
I also launched my MASA Golly rocket on a A3-4T.
We finished flying and were packed up by 3:30 pm.
I then helped Glen look for a rocket he lost that flew over the
woods to the North; but to no avail. We then retired to Culvers
restuarant in Albertville for rocket talk and dinner.
